Établie actuellement à Montréal au Canada, Mansa Musso à des racines d’Afrique de l'Ouest.

Le terme MANSA provient du Mandinka, langue mandingue parlée au Sénégal, en Gambie et en Guinée.

Le terme MANSA désigne "Empereur" et titre porté par les souverains de l'empire du Mali, particulièrement de la dynastie Keïta qui a dominé l'Afrique de l'Ouest à époque du Moyen Âge tardif.

Le terme MUSO signifie "Femme" langue mandingue.

Le son R&B expérimental de Mansa Musso est principalement AfroHouse, Gqom, AfroTech & Coupé Décalé et est évidemment teinté par ses racines d’Afrique de l'Ouest.

Sa carrière DJ est présentement en plein essor, tel que le témoigne ses nombreuses prestations dans des boites notoires de la (Furco, Pow Pow Club, Blizzarts, Groove Nation, Terminal (Mexique), etc...).

Mansa Musso a également béni des milliers de festivaliers avec son son R&B expérimental a des évènements extérieurs de renommés (Aire Commune, Village du Pied du Courant, etc…).

Mansa Musso

Mansa Musso (Aka: Mansa) is a Montreal, Canada, based artist with West African roots.

MANSA comes from the Mandingo language, spoken by the Mandinka people of Senegal, The Gambia, and Northern Guinea.

MANSA means "Emperor". The term MANSA is particularly associated with the Keita Dynasty of the Mali Empire, which dominated West Africa in the Late Post-classical era.

MUSO also comes from the Mandingo language & means WOMAN.

Mansa Musso’s experimental R&B sound is predominantly AfroHouse, Gqom, AfroTech & Coupé Décalé.

Her DJ career currently of the chains as witnessed by her numerous performances in the City’s most notorious night clubs (Furco, Pow Pow Club, Blizzarts, Groove Nation, Terminal (Mexico), etc...).

Mansa has also blessed thousands of festival-goers with her experimental R&B at renowned outdoor events (Aire Commune, Village du Pied du Courant, etc…).

From an early age, Mansa knew she'd have to do music at some point in her life, a field where she always felt at her place since it helped her express all the unspoken words she holds inside. Her art is the gift she wants to leave like footprints in the sand...
